Case study - a slip down steps in a hotel in Crete

As holiday accident specialists, we have helped thousands of people that have been injured whilst they were abroad. One such person was a 32-year-old man who was on a package holiday in Crete when his accident happened.

Our customer was staying at a hotel complex for a week long holiday and his room was on the first floor. On his second day, he was walking down the stairs from his room when he slipped on a patch of water and fell down the rest of the steps. He sustained a broken ankle and a back injury as a result of his accident.

He found out that a few minutes previous to his slip, a cleaner had been washing the stairs but had failed to put any kind of warning notice up. He came to us and we took on his claim on a no win, no fee basis.

Our solicitors gathered evidence against the hotel, which initially denied responsibility for the accident. However, after 6 months of hard work and research by our solicitors, they accepted liability.

We were able to secure £16,620 in compensation for the pain and suffering our customer experienced, as well as loss of enjoyment of his holiday and the cost of treatment for his  injury.
