One of the mitigating factors in a product liability claim, from the point of view of the manufacturer of a product that has caused a personal injury, is the presence of warnings in the labels or packaging of the product.

If a product is used in a way that may cause injury, in defiance of warnings from its manufacturer that it should not be used that way, then it is understandable that a lawyer defending a claim under product liability law might succeed in doing so on the basis that the injured party is at fault. On the other hand, if no warning is given that certain usages are potentially dangerous, then the claimant's case may well seem the more compelling.
