25,000 for car accident back injuries
Ms Z instructed us after she sustained significant back injuries as a result of a careless car driver pulling out in front of her car from a side road. Our client was trapped in her car and had to be cut free by the fire service; later being taken to hospital by paramedics. Remembering the crash was very traumatic for her and she developed a psychological disorder which was made worse by the constant pain she was in.
Our panel solicitor was able to arrange for private physiotherapy, private cognitive behavioural therapy and specialist driving lessons to help her start driving with confidence again. All of these treatments were entirely funded by the defendant's insurers. Our solicitor was able to negotiate a settlement figure of £25,000.00 for Ms Z and this was paid directly to her with no deductions. This amount was in addition to the cost of the treatment. This was an excellent result for our client as the initial settlement offer received from the defendant's insurers was only £2,700.00.
In response to the settlement Ms Z wrote the following to our solicitor, "I am really happy with the outcome and the service that I have received from you..... I would like to say a HUGE thank you for helping and assisting me throughout this process."
£1,900 for neck pain
MS was involved in a road traffic accident in February 2009. She suffered an inflammation of the varicose veins in her leg for a two week period. In addition she suffered from pain and stiffness in her neck and left shoulder, achieving a full recovery within a period of 5-6 months.

£2,700 for fractured metatarsal
SF sustained a fracture to the base of her 5th metatarsal when she slipped on the wet floor at work. She made a full recovery from the injury and we were able to secure an out-of-court settlement for £2,700 in respect of the personal injury claim.
We also recovered her loss of earnings in full in the sum of £786.01. SF was still employed by the same company when the case was settled in January 2009.
£450,000 for road traffic accident injuries
MG was involved in a serious RTA in his friend's vehicle. The claimant had taken intoxicants and had little recollection of the accident. The defendant's team obtained expert evidence suggesting that MG had not been wearing a seatbelt and that he also had an inconsistent work record alongside a history of drug abuse.
On this basis the defendants offered £75,000, eventually increasing the offer to £125,000. YouClaim's solicitors recommended rejection of both offers - holding a firm line in negotiations. The claimant received regular interim payments and returned to work less than two years after car accident. Less than 3 years after the accident, the claimant settled the case for a total of £450,000, when the defendants were forced to abandon their arguments regarding the seatbelt and the claimant's work history.
£2,028 for holiday accident foot injury
JG sustained a laceration to her foot whilst on a package holiday as a result of a broken tile in a swimming pool. The injury meant that the remainder of her holiday was ruined. She contacted You Claim and we assisted her in claiming against her tour operator to recover damages for her injuries, and also for the loss of enjoyment of her holiday.
You Claim's holiday accident solicitors negotiated a £2,028 out-of-court settlement.
£6,100 for injury to low back
MK slipped down wet steps at work. The steps had been mopped without the cleaners putting up warning signs. Our client landed hard on his lower back and aggravated an existing back complaint. He contacted YouClaim.
Our solicitors assisted him in making a personal injury claim against his employer and the cleaning contractors. MK was very pleased with the £6,100 compensation received in July 2009.
£1,500 for scalp injury
