Graz man in whiplash win
An Austrian carpenter from the city of Graz was relieved to hear he had been awarded whiplash compensation for a car accident that has left him unable to meet the needs of his clients.
The whiplash compensation claimant suffered his neck injury in a side-on collision with a Mercedes while out on a daytrip to visit his elderly mother in a care home.
His personal injury lawyer managed to secure him the damages award in an out-of-court settlement after the defendant's insurers admitted full liability for the collision.
Speaking after the whiplash compensation decision had been reached, the man's lawyer commented, "My client is a highly-skilled exponent of his craft. For several months now he has been significantly restricted in his ability to carry out new and continuing work. We are pleased that this award recognises this. No money, however, can compensate my client for the pleasure he has lost out on in being unable to work to his passionate best."
