Surrey man claims £300,000

A Surrey man is making a motorcycle accident claim for £300,000 in compensation after a he was hit by a car in November 2009.

The 30-year-old was riding his Honda motorcycle along Brighton Road when a South Croydon woman in a Hyundai pulled out in front of him causing him to suffer severe personal injuries to his leg, back and head.

He also suffers from depression and cannot even take a bath because of the skin wounds he has incurred.

At a hearing into the motorbike accident in June, Bexleyheath Magistrates heard the driver plead guilty to the charge of driving without due care and attention.

The biker said, "I've got a conference coming up with my employers, and they want to know whether they can keep my job open to me and whether I will recover, or whether they will have to retire me early or dismiss me under ill health.

"I'm not able to use my right arm; I'm not even able to get into the bath because my skin starts to burn on my legs.

"I've had two operations so far, but nothing is improving really."

The personal injury victim has launched his compensation claim at the High Court. The motorcycle accident claim writ states that the car driver "failed to pay proper attention to the road ahead" and "failed to slow down, brake or take sufficient action to avoid colliding with the claimant's motorcycle".

Can I claim?
