Eight year six students had to be treated for whiplash injuries after the coach they were travelling in became wedged between an HGV lorry and a Peugeot car.
The driver of the coach which was taking the year six students on an end-of-term school trip to a local country estate also received treatment to a whiplash injury at the scene of the accident.
Both the driver and five of the injured student passengers were then transported on spinal boards to Warwick Hospital.
Initial concerns that some of the pupils might have sustained serious spinal injuries have been allayed. The school's headteacher commented, "Fortunately no-one was seriously hurt and the children were able to evacuate the bus.
"A kind local resident came to help and the children and staff waited in the garden of her residence for the paramedics to arrive.
"We would like to thank staff and pupils for the calm and responsible way that they dealt with the situation and the emergency services for their prompt action."
Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the crash, which took place at junction 15 of the M40, to come forward.
It remains to be seen whether any of those involved will be contacting no win, no fee solicitors to check their eligibilty to make whiplash injury compensation claims.
