Tree planting campaign from mesothelioma compensation activists

UK campaigners for mesothelioma compensation from the Roger Lowe Campaign have announced that they are planning a tree-planting to raise awareness of the fatal asbestos-related cancer in Plymouth. This is set to happen on February 27, which has been established as National Action Mesothelioma Day.

The daughter of the man commemorated in the name of the charity said "The day is also about tying in Plymouth with the rest of the country. Despite our unfortunate links with asbestos-related conditions, it has taken a long time for people to come to terms with just how many people there are in the city affected by them. It's a ticking time bomb and numbers will peak in the next ten years."

Plymouth is one of the national hotspots for asbestos-related diseases, including mesothelioma and asbestosis. They also plan to sell white ribbons and set up an asbestos advice shop in the grounds of Saltram House.
