No win no fee lawyers in actions against Norwich hospitals
Norwich hospitals have reported a rise in compensation claims that are being handled by no win, no fee lawyers. These are, however, not claims for medical negligence but for equal pay by the clinical professionals who work in the hospitals.
Like many other establishments around the UK, the Norfolk hospitals are awaiting the results of test cases resulting from the NHS's new payment system.
Once these cases are settled, the amount of damages payable to the hospital workers will be known. These hospitals are reported to be facing a bill that could reach into the thousands.
There are no reports, however, that these compensation claims are leading to any greater need for patients to appoint no win, no fee lawyers for personal injury cases.
