Times rejects no win no fee compensation claim complaint
This weekend's Sunday Times features a response from the 'Business Doctor' to a query that suggests slips, trips and falls are unavoidable, and implies that making a no win, no fee compensation claim after suffering such an accident at work is unjustified.
To the newspaper's credit, the Business Doctor responds with professional facts from an employment law firm, which includes the figure of nearly 11,000 workers suffering serious injury as a result of a slip or trip in 2007.
It then goes on to outline ways in which a claim can be avoided by performing a risk assessment and acting on any proposals that arise from that, including making sure that employees are aware of those aspects of their health and safety that are their own responsibility.
This suggests that the Times is also supportive of the rights of those who receive personal injury in a work accident having the right to make a no win, no fee compensation claim to cover the costs incurred as a result of that industrial injury.
