Former asbestos worker makes claim

A 71-year-old man who has developed the incurable asbestos-related disease mesothelioma has employed personal injury solicitors in order to seek mesothelioma compensation.

His claim for mesothelioma compensation will focus on the period 1952-1964 when he worked for an electric company in Lancashire, particularly the years 1956-57 during which time he was intensively installing a network of asbestos-lagged steel pipes.

It is understood that his asbestos claim would be greatly benefited by the testimonies of his co-workers at the time, none of whom the claimant is still in contact with. His personal injury solicitor has urged anyone who worked with her client at the time to come forward in order to aid the asbestos claim.

Speaking on the subject of the man's mesothelioma compensation claim, she said, "He is entitled to compensation for mesothelioma for which there is little or no curative treatment available."
