Widow raises voice in hope of finding colleagues

The widow of a painter and decorator who died from asbestos-related illness mesothelioma more than 30 years after suffering workplace exposure is appealing for anyone who worked with her late husband to come forward and assist her in her fight to claim compensation.

Tragically, the man was only 59 when he died and had been diagnosed with mesothelioma just 11 months before his death.

Unfortunately, the painting and decorating firm that the late man worked for ceased trading more than ten years ago, so in order to claim compensation, his widow must seek to discover who insured the firm against employee accident and illness.

The widow's personal injury solicitor commented that mesothelioma claims like her client's are becoming increasingly common, "A lot of small firms in particular have already gone out of business.

"Cases like this are becoming increasingly common. Workers from a wide variety of occupations are being affected."
