Motorbike crash man thanks his rescuers after recovery
A Gateshead man who suffered serious personal injury in a motorcycle accident five months ago has had the opportunity to thank his rescuers this weekend.
The man's horrific road traffic accident occurred last October, when he was hit by two cars at a Northumberland crossroads while on his way to pick up his girlfriend, who was returning from Norway.
Aside from a five-week coma, the man's local paper lists the injuries he suffered in the motorbike crash as "a severe head injury, a ruptured aorta, nerve and muscle damage to his right arm and shoulder and a dislocated left thumb. His right leg was broken in five places."
A passenger from one of the cars involved in the smash was also airlifted to the hospital alongside the biker. One driver has admitted dangerous driving and received a fine and points on his licence.
The biker has expressed a hope that he will be able to return to his job as a fitter. Despite the conviction of one of the drivers in his motorcycle accident, he has not commented publicly on any intention to launch a no win, no fee compensation claim.
