Faulty product injury claim news

Compensation paid for high heel accident
A 20-year-old Cheshire woman has won more than £7,000 compensation after making a faulty product injury claim for a high heel shoe which broke, causing her to suffer a fractured ankle.
The faulty product injury claim claimant, who is an English Literature student at Durham University, suffered the fracture while walking along a tram platform after the heel on the one of the shoes snapped. It is understood that she had only purchased the shoes a week prior to the accident.
A judge at Manchester County Court made the fault product injury claim award on June 5, after hearing arguments from the claimant's personal injury solicitor.
Speaking after his client had been awarded the product liability compensation, the Manchester-based solicitor commented, "She was minding her own business on a night out with her friends when it happened.
"In most cases when the product itself is faulty you get your money back. Solicitors only get involved if there is an injury.
"This case highlights the fact that consumers are well protected in English law where products purchased are defective."
