High Court to hear toxic sofa claims

The toxic sofa faulty product claim saga is set to continue at the High Court, with more consumers who have suffered chemical burns as a result of sofas contaminated with an anti-mould chemical hoping to receive payouts.

Faulty product claim compensation has already been paid to several hundred consumers affected by the scandal; however, those currently waiting for the High Court to make a decision on their claims have so far been delayed by legal technicalities.

No win, no fee solicitors say that the combined cost of faulty product claim settlements for the sofas could exceed £20 million, which would make it the biggest such case in UK legal history.

Zurich, the insurance company named as defendant in the action, denies liability.
