Personal injury compensation claims
09/07/2007
A quick crash for a quick fix
The media has seen a recent spate of news stories about desperate drug addicts in the UK throwing themselves in front of oncoming traffic so they can then make personal injury compensation claims to fund their habits.
A report of one such accident which happened in London described how a drowsy and dishevelled young man' fell down deliberately into the path of a slow-moving taxi then unsuccessfully attempted to make a personal injury compensation claim for a severe leg injury.
There were also stories of a similar personal injury compensation claim scammer in Greenock, who after apparently throwing himself into an approaching vehicle said, "It's okay, I've got my witnesses", and then left the scene of the car accident without calling police.
Manchester too has seen several examples of this new phenomenon of addicts making desperate and fraudulent personal injury compensation claims.
