Scaffolding fall leads to personal injury fine
Following a construction site accident in which three workers were hurt, a Wolverhampton scaffolding firm has been found liable and fined over their personal injury.
The company was fined £3,300 over the injuries suffered by its employees in June 2007, and ordered to pay a further £5,300 in costs.
The injured parties, all in their twenties, fell approximately seven metres in the work accident, and received personal injury including fractured ankles and broken knees. Pedestrians and road users beneath the fallen scaffolding could have been endangered, but no injury was reported.
The company may now face no win, no fee compensation claims from the workers whose health it was found to have endangered in the construction site accident.
