Work accident in Scotland hotel leads to £30k claim

A Scottish laundry worker is making a compensation claim for £30,000 over an accident at work that left him unable to use a vacuum cleaner, walk his dog, or go shopping by himself.

He claims that the luxury hotel, where rooms start at over £300 a night, was fitted with a faulty lift that stopped before it had reached the correct level. When he tried to move a laundry cart in the lift, it jammed against the top of the door leading him to wrench his shoulder severely.

His personal injury solicitor's writ states that "He will always be left with symptoms which are interfering slightly with his work and social activities."

The hotel denies liability for the personal injury suffered in this accident at work. The compensation case goes to court this week in Perth.
