A teenager from East Sussex has received £2.8 million in compensation after making a car crash claim for an incident in which he was crossing the A259 only to be hit by a vehicle.
The teenager, who suffered severe multiple injuries, including brain damage and a broken leg, decided to take his car crash claim to the High Court in London.
And although the insurers of the driver who hit the teenager did not admit liability for the incident, the claimant's personal injury lawyer managed to get them to agree to a settlement.
Speaking after the claim had been resolved, the boy's father said, "It's a total relief to us.
"The mental and physical stress of caring for someone with a brain injury is exhausting.
"My advice to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation is to get proper legal advice as soon as possible."
