Fatal claim decision upheld on appeal

The family of a successful entrepreneur who died in a 2001 collision with an ambulance have had their entitlement to £1.8 million car accident compensation upheld at London's Court of Appeal.

This comes after the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust decided to appeal the initial ruling, hoping to considerably cut the £1.8 million car accident compensation award. However, the justice sitting at the Court of Appeal decided that the reasons for the initial award were both persuasive and conclusive.

It is understood that the full sum of car accident compensation secured for the family by their personal injury lawyer amounts to £1,820,504. After awarding the sum under the terms of the Fatal Accidents Act, Lady Justice Smith commented that "nothing could be more obvious" than the fact that the claimants lost a "very valuable dependency" with the tragic death of the "workaholic" entrepreneur.
