Woman seeks £500,000 for crash injuries

A car accident claim is being made by a woman from Salisbury who suffered multiple injuries, including a brain injury and two broken legs as a result of being struck by Vauxhall van.

The no win, no fee lawyers representing the woman's car accident claim are hoping to secure a sum upwards of £500,000, including amounts for loss of mobility and ongoing cognitive problems.

Before the crash, the claimant was independent and self-sufficient and, although it is thought to be too early for medical experts to make a full prognosis, it is unlikely that she will ever enjoy a level of independence close to this again; she now relies on the use of a wheelchair and a Zimmer frame.

The road traffic accident happened after the claimant had to make a sudden emergency stop due to mechanical problems with her car. However, on getting out of her vehicle she was hit by the defendant's oncoming van. Her personal injury lawyer argues that the van driver is liable because she failed to pay attention to the brake lights, failed to slow down and failed to leave a sufficient gap between the two vehicles.

The woman who is making the car accident claim is continuing to undergo extensive rehabilitation.
