Teenager's bus crash claim

A teenage boy from Suffolk is hoping to claim around £3 million in bus accident compensation after suffering serious and permanent injuries when he was in collision with a bus while out riding his motor scooter.

No win, no fee lawyers representing the 19-year-old have served a bus accident compensation writ at the High Court in which it is stated that unlimited damages are being sought. It is also stated that insurers for the bus company deny liability for the injury claim.

The teenager sustained a serious spinal injury in the crash, in which he was thrown onto the windscreen of the bus, and is now paralysed from the waist down.

His legal team is hoping to secure sums for loss of earnings, loss of amenity, the cost of care and living assistance, case management, specialist accommodation, aids, equipment and medical treatment, as well as pain and suffering.

Furthermore, the writ alleges that the bus driver was negligent on a number of counts, including failing to give way and driving too fast.

Although it is stated that unlimited damages are being sought, if successful the bus accident compensation claim is likely to be settled for between £2 million and £3million.
