An 81-year-old Hampshire woman has received £20,000 in bus accident compensation for an incident in which she suffered a serious gash to her leg.
The bus accident occurred when the driver of the bus drove away from the stop on which the pensioner had boarded without first ensuring she had seated herself safely. As it accelerated, the woman lost her balance and fell, sustaining her passenger injuries in the process.
She was hospitalised, needed several skin grafts, and now has difficulty walking all but the shortest of distances.
A spokesperson for the company found liable for the bus accident commented, "We are deeply sorry. Accidents are rare but they do happen on occasion and when they do, they are investigated thoroughly."
