Ambulance and fire crews were called to a supermarket bakery in Barnstaple recently following an accident at work.
A bakery employee had to be rushed to hospital with crush injuries to his hand after trapping it in a bread machine.
Emergency services were informed of the work injury at approximately 3.30am on Friday 9th September.
On arrival, fire crews freed the trapped hand using small tools and a finger kit.
Hand trap injuries provide a regular source of work for personal injury solicitors, as many are found to have been caused by poor safety training for employees or missing safety equipment.
If the cause of the accident is found to be negligence on behalf of the employer, then a claim for compensation may ensue.
However, at present, the cause of this accident at work remains a mystery.
