Remembering loved ones with motorcycle accident memorials

Any motorcycle accident affects more people than the person who receives a personal injury in the crash; friends and loved ones can be deeply emotionally affected, and a family can lose a primary wage-earner through death or injury.

Around the world, various people and organisations have set up memorials to people who lost their lives in motorbike crashes.

One such is dedicated to the famous T E Lawrence, 'Lawrence of Arabia', for whom a memorial plaque has been placed at the site of his fatal motorcycle crash in 1935, alongside a specially planted oak tree.

In Ohio, in a town called Hopedale, a public memorial has been founded. Known as the Fallen Motorcycle Riders Memorial, it consists of a long mural with the names of lost bikers inscribed on stones. For a small fee, anyone can have the name of a loved motorcyclist engraved on the memorial. Similar memorials exist in the Mojave desert, Indiana and Wisconsin.

More private motorbike memorials can also be found in the shape of specialist urns. A growing number of memorial companies are able to offer urns in the shape of the petrol tank of classic bikes and in a variety of liveries. One expert suggests that the tank "symbolizes the heart of the bike, and it's comforting for motorcycle fans to think of themselves as permanently fuelling the heart of a classic motorcycle."

Making a motorcycle accident compensation claim
If you or a loved one have been involved in a motorbike crash, however severe, where fault lies with another party, you may be eligible to make a claim for compensation over your losses, present and future.

A good personal injury solicitor is invaluable in this process, and here at YouClaim we have some of the best. We will not coerce you into making a claim you do not wish to make, but if you do feel you deserve compensation, the no win, no fee solicitors that we can bring to your case are likely to be able to bring your case to its best conclusion.

They can do so at no cost to you, win or lose. We go beyond a basic no win, no fee arrangement by promising that you will pay no fees, from either side whatever happens; neither will you pay costs or disbursements that the case may cause. And you can rely on receiving 100 percent compensation.
