Hearing protection for tinnitus claimants

Individuals unfortunate enough to need to make a tinnitus claim for hearing loss after a work-related injury may want to protect their hearing from further damage when they are outside their workplace.

For many people, using simple foam ear-plugs will help muffle loud noises and be an easy and comfortable way of making sure that no further harm is done to the ear's delicate interior structure.

However, other people may find foam ear-plugs impractical or uncomfortable. For example a young individual may wish to go to gigs and festivals, but does not want visible ear protection to make them self-conscious.

These young tinnitus victims have a few different options available to them.

Firstly, they can purchase foam ear-plugs which closely match the colour of their skin and will be largely invisible to others unless attention is brought to them.

Secondly, they may wish to buy some transparent plugs, which are colourless and therefore may blend into the rest of the ear better than ear protection that has a block colour to it.

Thirdly, there are types of ear protection that upon purchase, the person can mould to the shape of their own ear. These items are usually available in different colours which often include some generic skin tones. One product available is putty which the individual can push and mould into the centre of their ear. After a specified number of minutes the putty will have dried and will keep the shape of the person's ear when removed.

Of course, anyone who wants to continue their day-to-day lives without brightly coloured ear protection in their ears can purchase these useful products.

Some types of ear protection will suit some individuals more than others, and if a victim's tinnitus is permanent due to the severity of the damage done to the ear drum or inner ear, then it may be worth finding the defenders which best suit them so that they can be as comfortable as possible.
