Speaking of the crash, a police official said, "The ship hit the pavement of the harbour causing a big hole in the ship's body. The deaths and injuries occurred due to the strength of the crash. "
The 55,000 ton liner had been on an 18-day cruise from Dubai to Savona in Italy. Although there were no reports of passenger injury claims made immediately following the crash, it is likely that there will be multiple holiday claims made for the personal injuries received in the cruise accident.
