RTA compensation after suffering non-fault crash
11/03/2011

Road traffic accidents (RTA) are unfortunately very common in Britain, and some casualties of crashes feel their injuries are such that they seek a no win, no fee lawyer to help them make a RTA compensation claim.

If it can be proven that a victim was not at fault, then an expert solicitor from YouClaim is likely to be able to present a case and win the claimant 100% compensation for their pain suffering and loss of earnings.

However, there are some cases which personal injury solicitors are unlikely to be willing to represent because evidence shows that it is in fact the person who wishes to claim who is to blame for the incident.

Sometimes accidents are caused by dangerous driving, such as speeding, but British highways are filled with road markings and signs and if motorists do not pay enough attention to them this may cause the road user to be involved in a crash.

Subsequent to an RTA, an injured individual may believe that they were not at fault, but further investigations can prove otherwise in some cases.

Keep clear signs and box junctions
Some markings are put in place, often alongside road signs, to warn a road user against doing something like stopping their vehicle in a particular area.

Keep clear lettering and box junction markings are placed on a road specifically to warn motorists against bringing their car to a halt in a place were they will be in the way of traffic coming from another direction.

Box junctions have hatched yellow lines (in the shape of a box) which are found in their centre. Keep clear signage is most often painted onto tarmac near schools and emergency services.

To avoid congestion and accidents, and to make sure that emergency service vehicles are not blocked while on the way out to an incident, both of these road markings should not be driven onto unless the motorist knows their exit from the area is without obstruction.

For this reason, if a driver becomes a road traffic accident casualty because they stopped in an area they should not have been stationary in, and were then hit by another vehicle as a result, a judge is likely to rule that the victim was largely or entirely at fault.
