Some car crashes seem so unlikely that those injured might wonder if the law actually allows them to make a car accident claim
In contrast to typical RTAs, such as the whiplash-inducing rear-end shunt, these types of "unlikely" incident are very rare and sometimes even unique – but one thing is clear, if the negligence of another party can be proven, all injured parties will be able to make a car accident claim.
The following is a particularly distressing and seemingly random example of an "unlikely" car crash. What makes it so troubling is that having occurred once, it is repeated again soon afterwards
The beach car crashes
First there was the untimely death of a London university professor who, as he read on a beach on the Isle of Wight, was crushed by a car which had rolled from its parking space several feet above the level of the beach.
Then, tragically, not long afterwards, a two-year-old boy was killed in a similar incident at a beach, again at the Isle of Wight.
At the time of second incident, a spokesperson from Isle of Wight Council commented, "We understand the police are investigating the road safety aspects of the accident and we cannot comment further on these at this stage.
"The council's own health and safety officers are also carrying out an internal investigation. We have a responsibility to ensure that health and safety arrangements in council car parks meet all legal requirements."
