Commenting on the theft, police said, "The contents of the machines could pose a serious risk to health if inhaled. "Asbestos dust is extremely dangerous and the machines should not be approached by anyone who is not wearing very specific protective clothing."
While these two incidents might seem like minor, isolated risks, it is significant that they are just two of many that occur each year in the UK, meaning asbestos should never disappear from the forefront of the collective health and safety consciousness.
