Does no win, no fee mean no cost?
No win, no fee means that you won’t have to pay your own solicitor’s fees if your claim is unsuccessful not that you won’t have to pay any costs at all. You may still be liable to pay your opponent’s solicitor’s fees and both yours and your opponent’s costs such as court fees, medical reports fees, after-the-event insurance and much more.
However, when you make a no win, no fee claim through YouClaim you will be completely protected from all costs, whether you win or lose your case because we will take out after-the-event insurance on your behalf which will cover your opponent’s legal fees as well as both yours and your opponent’s costs.
Many personal injury claim companies will deduct a percentage of any compensation that you win but YouClaim will never do this. We believe that any money awarded should go directly to you and so we won’t attempt to take away a single penny.
What happens when I win my claim?
If you win a claim made through YouClaim you can keep 100% of any compensation awarded. Your personal injury solicitor will recover his legal fees from the losing side’s insurance company, ensuring that you are not liable for anything.
Some claims firms and injury solicitors charge a 'success fee' of up to 40% in addition to their legal fees. You could be liable for these costs which might mean a big deduction from your compensation. But not with YouClaim; we’ll let you keep everything you win.
With YouClaim you are fully protected from these costs
In the event that our associated panel of solicitors cannot recover their legal fees and in full from your opponent, the costs are written off. We have never taken a penny from our customers and we guarantee that you will receive your compensation in full without any deductions.
But what happens if I lose?
When making a personal injury claim through YouClaim you can walk away without having to fork out a single penny if your case happens to be unsuccessful.
With most companies you will be protected from your solicitor's legal fees under the terms of their no win, no fee agreement but many will still hold you liable for your opponent's legal fees. Not YouClaim.
Some companies will also try to sell you an insurance product (often hugely overpriced) to protect you in the event that you lose your case.
With YouClaim you are fully protected from these costs too
When you ask us to take on your claim our personal injury solicitors take out an insurance policy which covers your opponent's legal costs and fees if you lose your claim. You do not pay for this insurance cover. If you win your claim, the cost of the policy is recovered from the other side's insurance company. If you lose your claim, the cost of the policy is covered by the policy itself.
