Compensation claim - 300,000 UK cases in 2004

Last year almost 300,000 people made a compensation claim against organisations in the UK, costing a total of £6.6bn.

Health and Safety specialist Consult GEE has warned that those organisations that do not comply with health and safety legislation are taking a big risk, leaving them open not only to compensation claims from employees, but also fines from regulatory bodies, and higher insurance costs.
