Here at YouClaim we receive a number of calls from people who have been involved in car accidents and suffered personal injuries. With that in mind we have taken a look at just some of the superminis that EuroNCAP has rated well for their passenger safety.
Nobody likes to think that they could someday be involved in a road accident but the risk is always there. With this in mind, most people will want to own a vehicle that will give them and their passengers the best possible protection.
EuroNCAP provides motorists with an independent assessment on the safety features of the most popular cars in Europe. They have vast amounts of tests on their website; here are just some of the best cars for adult protection.
BMW Mini
In 2007, EuroNCAP rated the BMW as having a good passenger protection against head and chest injuries from front impacts with adequate protection for their legs. Safety equipment includes a front passenger bag and a well-designed dashboard that will limit the level of passenger injuries suffered to the knees.
For little passengers, the airbag can be disabled to allow a rearward-facing child restraint to be used.
Toyota Yaris
During crash tests in 2005, the Yaris was given five stars for its level of adult protection during a car accident. Built with a passenger airbag that can be deactivated to allow rearward-facing child seats to be used, the Yaris provides the front occupant with excellent protection to the head and leg area.
Peugeot 2007
In 2006, EuroNCAP awarded the Peugeot 2007 with an impressive five stars for its adult safety. After carrying out tests on the vehicle, they quickly noted that the car's design and safety features, including a passenger airbag, were enough to limit a passenger's injuries to the head, chest and leg region.
Mazda 2
During the 2007 safety testing of the Mazda 2 received five stars for its adult protection. The design of the car with its safety features including passenger airbags means that occupants will lower their risk of sustaining passenger injuries. In particular, the Mazda 2 had a "Good" rating for its level of head and leg protection.
Again, the front airbag can be disabled by a main dealer, allowing motorists to put a rearward-facing child restraint in that seat.
