Passengers could make whiplash claim bus crash

Passengers onboard a Hackney bus that crashed into a disused pub could be considering making a whiplash claim for compensation.

The double-decker bus was travelling along Lower Clapton Road towards Hackney Central railway station when the road accident happened.

The 253 mounted the pavement and veered into the boarded-up entrance to the Lord Cecil pub around 8am on the 8th October.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the road traffic accident and helped 15 passengers off the bus, four of which are believed to have suffered minor injuries.

The driver escaped sustaining serious personal injuries but was treated for a leg injury at the scene of the crash.

All those injured were taken by ambulance to Homerton University Hospital.

A spokesperson for Arriva London has said the company will be carrying out an investigation into the bus accident.

In the future, people injured in the crash may consider making a whiplash claim for passenger injury compensation.
