Three-vehicle pile-up
During June 2003 we received a phone call from a young businessman from Brighton, East Sussex who had been involved in a vehicle accident while on his way to work. He took the route through town as he needed to pick up a parcel from the post office for his boss.

He approached the post office travelling at just 30mph, the speed limit for this zone which is close to a school, and signalled to park outside the entrance. Just as he was about to pull into a parking space his car was hit from behind with a sudden and forceful shunt.

The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa also sustained a serious head injury and was rushed straight to hospital. Although the road accident occurred right outside a school, fortunately no pupils sustained personal injuries.
