Pedestrian killed in road traffic accident
In the early hours of the morning on 4th December 2005 a road traffic accident resulted in the fatality of a 30 year old male pedestrian in east Belfast.
The car accident on the Upper Newtownards Road involved one BMW car carrying two passengers who sustained minor personal injuries. One person was arrested in connection with the accident.
Two fire appliances and a specialist rescue unit responded to the accident and found the pedestrian trapped under the vehicle. Fire equipment was used to release him although he was found to be dead on arrival.
On the same morning there was a vehicle accident involving a lorry and a car on the main Caledon to Armagh Road. Perhaps, suggesting this is a potential danger zone for road traffic accidents.
