John Prescott the deputy prime minister
has backed a new fair deal for miners

John Prescott is backing the campaign for miners who have been charged millions of pounds out of their miner’s compensation scheme. The miners have been charged unfairly after solicitors have taken legal fees and other costs when, as specified in the scheme, they do not have to pay this type of costs. One miners union has also come under the spotlight after it deducted handling fees and membership fees from the compensation that was awarded to the miners.

Lord Mackenzie, president of the Action Group for Miners (AGM), has called upon John Prescott to back him in the fair deal for miners scheme which aims to get refunds for all those who lost money to personal injury solicitors when they were making their compensation claim.
