A former Rolls Royce worker has won a £116,000 compensation claim after developing mesothelioma. The Court upheld his claim that he had received prolonged exposed to asbestos whilst working in the Sunderland plant.
British Rail have agreed a £157,000 out of Court settlement with the widower of a former employer who died of mesothelioma in 2002. The couple who emigrated to Australia in 1963 originally lived in the UK, where the husband worked as a coach fitter at British Rail’s Swindon works for nine years, from 1954.
A widower has won a £140,000 compensation claim following the death of her husband from mesothelioma. The 57 year old man contacted the asbestos related cancer following exposure to the asbestos dust when he worked for Corby Borough Council as a plasterer.
An 80 year old man who is dying of mesothelioma, has won a £90,000 compensation claim against Esso. The Court upheld the claim that the Esso oil refinery at Fawley, where the man worked as a scaffolder from 1968 until he retired in 1981, was responsible for exposing him to asbestos in the form of lagging materials that fell onto scaffolding boards.
A widower whose husband died of mesothelioma at the age of 58, has won a compensation claim against Buckingham Palace. Her husband had been a maintenance worker at the Palace between 1970 to 1992. His widow was awarded £177,901 in compensation.
A firefighter has been awarded £12,500 in a compensation claim against his former employer, West Yorkshire Fire and Civil Defence Authority and Northumberland Council Council. The Court upheld the claim that the man had contracted pleural plaques caused by asbestos exposure whilst at work.
