Major brands branching out to launch claims division
Under the ‘Legal Service Bill’, non legal firms will be allowed to run legal firms from 2007. According to the government getting legal advice could soon become incredibly easy. Once new laws are in place several large brands such as the AA are set to launch their own legal arms. Reports indicate that several consultancy firms are checking the market on behalf of these brands, for the best routes of entry into the legal market. It is also believed that the Claims Standards Council is has been approached to provide best practice advice on the establishment of a personal injury claims management division.
The AA has been the first brand to state its intentions to branch out in to the legal sector. Several major high street brands, such as leading supermarkets, have also been linked to a potential expansion into the legal market. No definite plans have been announced yet.
If leading brands are to branch out into claims arms then it may soon be possible to make an accident claim at the same time as you buy your groceries.
