Crew and passengers suffer personal injuries from drunk
Both airline crew and passengers suffered personal injuries and terrible inconvenience when a drunk lashed out on a flight from Cancun , Mexico .
Rafal Krawcyzk, a polish man who lives in Belfast was drinking his own alcohol on board the plane, he became abusive and then proceeded to pick a fight with a neighbouring passenger. A spokesman from Thomsonfly revealed that the man’s aggression was out of control and he even smashed up the toilet.
Some passengers had to help the cabin crew restrain Krawcyzk because he was just too rowdy. The purser received a minor head injury and others also received personal injuries.
The captain made a decision to land at Sanford Airport, Orlando, for the safety of the other passengers and the unruly passenger was taken in by Florida police.
232 passengers were affected by the diversion and the aircraft that was due to land at Manchester on Sunday will now land at Birmingham on Monday.
Krawcyzk will appear in court charged with interfering with cabin crew on 17th January, 2006 . It is also expected that several personal injury compensation claims will follow this incident.
